Climate Resilience

Our Vision is for resilient coastal zones that enable shoreline and waterfront development for thriving economies, social wellbeing and robust ecosystems in a changing climate.

Coastal zones are among the Caribbean’s richest assets, and are a priority for climate change adaptation.
At Smith Warner International, we provide technical services to public and private clients to realize adaptation plans and strategies. Our coastal climate services identify the most appropriate adaptation options, design least-cost interventions, and implement solutions that mitigate risk and losses from climate change.

We offer ecosytem-based approaches

  • We offer ecosystem-based approaches:

  • Ridge-to-reef planning

  • Wetland restoration and rehabilitation

  • Constructed wetlands

  • Dune construction and stabilization

Our tailored approach includes “soft” options to accommodate rising sea levels:

  • Coastal zoning

  • Coastal setbacks

  • Beach nourishment

  • Artificial reefs and breakwaters
