It Takes a Vision

From urban coastlines where the city meets the sea to undeveloped waterfront land with resort potential, Smith Warner provides the full range of engineering and construction services to guide and build a project strategically and seamlessly from vision to reality. Because we have spent decades designing and building in the Caribbean, we understand the process from conception to completion. We can design and build the full project or build according to a prior design. In that case, given our design expertise, we are in the unique position of being able to finetune even during construction, should a problem arise or a change become necessary. We are the first choice of local governments, resort developers, and private landowners when they need a creative solution to a waterfront problem and when they want to build resilience into every aspect of the construction.

From Concept to Completion

In our work, we have transformed and fortified the shorelines of many of the Caribbean islands bringing to life some of the world’s most spectacular developments. We serve our clients in a variety of ways. When we engineer the design and carry out the construction, we promise consistency, continuity, and team communication from start to finish. We are often called upon to manage projects for other contractors and to supervise construction on behalf of clients. Whatever our role, we promise you talented, thoughtful professionals who thoroughly appreciate the intricacies of the work and who use the latest tools, techniques, and machinery on the job.

Transforming Urban Waterfronts

We recently helped the City of Kingston rebuild the downtown waterfront, bolstering it against storm surge while creating a beautiful boardwalk and beach for all to enjoy. The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) facilitated the project and funding was provided by the World Bank. The project will enhance the resilience of the Port Royal Street corridor to the adverse effects of natural disasters and climate change. Works included the installation of 1 km of composite seawall, an armour stone revetment, a new fishermen’s beach and a public boardwalk.  We worked with joint venture partners S & G Paving for the coastal construction works.
